What Hearth & Grove is

Hearth and Grove Fellowship is a group of people who share spiritual growth by learning, experimenting, sharing and caring.

There are many pagan spiritual pathways. We accept that Diety is honored and worshiped in ways that are most meaningful to each person. At Hearth & Grove Fellowship, we share our thoughts and ideas, our songs and our verses, our lives and the ways that we worship, with our fellowship family and friends.

Hearth & Grove does not preach a particular tradition, push a particular doctrine, or follow a political agenda. We don’t care how you choose to honor Diety. Actually, we enjoy learning from each other. You don't have to 'know' anything, and you don't have to follow a specific tradition, nor do you have to not follow a specific tradition.

We have been asked, "How can Pagans have a church?" We call the place where we gather a ‘church’ because, according to the Wikipedia, “Church (building), building used for religious services and worship.”

In our culture the term church is the only word we could find that comes close to describing having a place to gather for spiritual fellowship. So, we have a church!

What We Do at Church

We meet at the Oakwood Neighborhood Center

We do a lot of chatting and socializing as we gather.

The seats are arranged in a circle around the altar (a small table with candles, a bundle of sticks, a talking stick, and crystals). At 10:00 we sing our opening Welcome song. We light the main candle, discuss the bundle of sticks, and light individual candles while sharing our joys and concerns. Then a moment of grounding.

After that is the topic of the day. After the presentation the group discusses the topic. The talking stick indicates that the holder has the floor.

At 11:00, the topic is finished off, and the closing song is sung.

Then - socializing!

Proper church attire is very specific. Be yourself and be legal.
